Ferrell D. “Dave” Davis, 78, of Meadowlakes died July 11, 2012. He was born in Comanche on June 6, 1934, to George Malcolm and Nancy Irene Keating Davis.

He joined the Air Force in 1952 and retired as a senior master sergeant after 28 years of service. He was awarded a Purple Heart, the Distinguished Flying Cross, eight Air Medals and numerous other service medals.

While stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, he graduated from Park College with a degree in business administration. He worked for Motorola in Austin for 16 years and served on the board of directors of the Bergstrom Federal Credit Union, later known as United Heritage Federal Credit Union, for a number of years.

He was a member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans.

In 1974, he married Betty Witter Fritsche. In 1987, the couple made a permanent move from Austin to the Marble Falls area to enjoy their retirement in the Hill Country. They both loved fishing and spent many happy years on the Highland Lakes and the Gulf Coast.

In addition to his wife, survivors include son David Davis; granddaughter Alexandra Davis; grandson David A. Davis of Grand Prairie; stepdaughter Rhonda Fritsche of Austin; and nine nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson Robert W. Fritsche; and sister Betty Hicks.

Visitation is 9-10:30 a.m. July 13 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373. A graveside service is 2 p.m. July 13 at Cook Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park in Austin.
