Juan “John” Martin Campuzano, 48, died June 28, 2012, in the home that he worked hard to give his family. He was born in Eagle Pass on July 22, 1963, to Augustine Campuzano and Theresa Castaneda.

He was a graduate of Hereford High School in Hereford and spent most of his life in Burnet County, raising his family in Marble Falls. He was married to Sonia Campuzano for 26 years.

He will be remembered for his approachable personality. His charisma had no bounds and kept people coming back for more. He was a peaceful man who could make friends in any opportunity.  If the saying is true about loving what you do for a living, then he never worked a day in his life.

The feeling of freedom was comforting to him, and that was apparent with his love for riding motorcycles. He often shared these moments of freedom with his soulmate, Sonia. He loved going out with his family on the boat, pulling it with his 1977 Chevy pickup that he lovingly called Ol’ Faithful.

Above all, he will be remembered for his strong faith and unconditional love for his family. He never thought about himself; he only wanted the best for his family. He worked hard to give every opportunity to his children and raised them in a manner for the betterment of their future families.  On top of everything, his love for his wife could not be measured by the years they were together, for their love went above and beyond any kind of possible measurement. They were the definition of soulmates. In life and death, they fought for each other and never left each other’s side.

His loved ones can be comforted in knowing he is now flying like the eagle with the strength of a buffalo.

In addition to his wife, survivors include sons Jonathan Campuzano and Louis Suarez; daughter Yexzamanith  Campuzano; brothers Luis Campuzano and Miguel Campuzano; and sisters Mary Rodriguez, Mabel Rodriguez, Ruth Rodriguez and Diana Campuzano.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A graveside service was July 1 at Marble Falls City Cemetery with Cruz Soto officiating.
