Pauline ‘Polly’ Warton
Pauline “Polly” Warton, 91, of Austin died May 29, 2012. She was born in Roby on Feb. 2, 1921, to Presley Paul and Virginia (Simmons) Cooper.
She was a resident of Austin since 2004 and a former resident of Sweetwater. She started and funded a church in Onida, S.D., and was a member of First Baptist Church in Sweetwater, the Eastern Star and Elks Lodge. She was heavily involved with the Pastoral Care & Counseling Center in Abilene.
Survivors include sons Ben William Warton II of Marble Falls and Freddy Paul Warton and wife Julie of Austin; brother Clyde Bradford of Houston; sisters Judy Wooten of Paris and Jean McClure of Roby; grandchildren Tamara, Ben III, Tracy, Joshua and Kaitlyn; and great-grandchildren Lauren, Ellen and Kathryn.
She was preceded in death by husband Ben William Warton Sr. in 1997
A graveside service will be in Sweetwater at a later date.
