Mattie Sue Stumfoll, 89, of Llano died April 11, 2012. She was born in Bluff Dale on Oct. 9, 1922, to Audie B. and Mary Frances (Barham) Barron.

She graduated from high school in Brownwood, where she met and married James “Jim” Stumfoll on Feb. 14, 1943. In 1949, the couple moved to Llano and opened Jim’s Jewelry, which they owned and operated until they retired in 1982; it is now owned by their daughter, Beverly, and her husband, Gary Gatliff.

She was a member of Lutie Watkins Memorial United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include twin sister Mary Lou Ingram of Austin; daughters Karen Hagar and husband Mike, Patricia Winn and husband Jim and Beverly Gatliff and husband Gary, all of Llano; grandsons David Spinks, Jeff Winn, Kyle Gatliff and Kevin Gatliff; great-grandchildren John Winn, Taylor Spinks, Madison Spinks, Elena Spinks and Logan Gatliff; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Feb. 25, 1989; sister Billie Dinsmore; and brothers Lynn Barron and J.A. Barron.

Visitation is 4-6 p.m. April 14 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300. A graveside service is 2 p.m. April 15 at the Llano City Cemetery with the Rev. Stacey Nobles officiating.

Honorary pallbearers include David Spinks, Jeff Winn, John Winn, Kyle Gatliff and Kevin Gatliff.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Llano Scott and White Hospice, 1100 Ford St., Llano, TX 78643, or to a charity of choice.
