Margaret Alice (Moore) Tate
Margaret Alice (Moore) Tate, 94 and a lifetime resident of Llano, died April 26, 2010. She was born on July 13, 1915, in Llano County to Lela Alice (Willbern) and C.E. Moore.
She married James Rowden Tate Sept. 27, 1936, in Llano; he preceded her in death Sept. 17, 2008.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Llano and was the assistant Sunday school superintendent. She was a founding board member of the Llano Special Opportunity School and continued to support it until her death.
She also was a member of the Llano Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include daughters Winnie J. Morgan and husband Jimmy, and Lucy Tate, all of Llano; sons Sam Tate and wife Jill of Valley Spring, and Henry Lee Tate of Llano; sister Helen Harwell of Eden; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she also was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters; and four brothers.
A funeral service is 3 p.m. April 29 at the First Presbyterian Church of Llano, with the Rev. Ron Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Sandy Mountain Cemetery in Sunrise Beach.
Pallbearers are Keith Morgan, Kenny Morgan, Doug Morgan, Sidney Cox, Ron Anderson and Frank Faubion.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Llano, Llano Special Opportunity School or a charity of choice.
