Virginia Arlene Vandeventer, 87, of Kingsland died Jan. 7, 2012. She was born in New York on Sept. 21, 1924, to William and Nellie (Bennet) Seavey.

She married F.W. “Bill” Vandeventer in Bozeman, Mont., on April 4, 1944.

She was a resident of Kingsland for the past four years and was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include sons Dwight Vandeventer and wife Helga of Federal Way, Wash., and Richard Vandeventer and wife Janet of Kingsland; daughter Sandee Tuck and husband Dave of Salmon, Idaho; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998; parents; infant son; and grandson Billy Vandeventer.

A memorial service is 2 p.m. Jan. 13 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel, 900 Industrial Blvd. in Kingsland, (325) 388-6767, with the reverends Richard Vandeventer and Darrell Newby officiating.
