Marjorie Caffey

Marjorie Caffey, 88, died Dec. 31, 2011, after a short illness. She was born Sept. 1, 1923, in Water Valley in Coke County.
She was faithful and caring to others every step of the way.
She and her family moved to Justiceburg when she was 2 years old. They were farmers and ranchers and loved the country.
She loved the Lord, and was happy to work in the church. She taught Sunday school for about 15 years, loving every minute of it. She then took care of the kitchen as the social chairman for about 10 years. It gave her so many opportunities to help people.
One of her greatest pleasures was having young people in her home when her daughter was in high school.
Survivors include her son-in-law Herb Germer; grandson Jon Germer and wife Abby; granddaughter Erin Germer of Dallas; great-granddaughters Trinity and Kamryn Germer of Dallas; niece Janis Mire and husband Rodney of Gulfport, Miss.; nephews Danny Hill of Newark, Ohio, and Tom Caffey of Tennessee; sister-in-law Boo Caffey of Breckenridge; several cousins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter “Dub” Caffey; daughter Sammie Kay Germer; parents Elmer and Maudie Pettigrew; sister Wilma Hill and husband Ennis; brother J.W. Pettigrew and wife Tommie Lee; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is 3 p.m. Jan. 7 at Granite Mesa Health Center, 1401 Max Copeland Drive in Marble Falls.
