Homer Webb Langley
Homer Webb Langley, 87, of Highland Haven died Nov. 11, 2011. He was born to William and Amanda Cumber Langley on May 11, 1924, in Rockingham, N.C.
He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
He married Mildred Trammell on Dec. 18, 1944. He worked for Chevron Corp. in Richmond, Calif., retiring after 38 years in research. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.
He loved sports and his favorite baseball team was the New York Yankees.
In addition to his wife, survivors include sons James Langley of Camarillo, Calif., and Larry Langley of Houston; grandchildren James, Christopher, Brandon, Todd and Ashleigh Langley and Shannon Walkup; six great-grandchildren; brothers John and George Langley, both of North Carolina; and sister Beatrice McCumbee of North Carolina.
Visitation was Nov. 13 at Putnam Funeral Home and Crematory, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008.
Graveside services followed Nov. 14 at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet with the Rev. Rodney McGee officiating.
