Rebecca Jane “Becky” Damron, 76, died Oct. 28, 2011, with family and friends by her side. She was born Aug. 31, 1935, in Houston, the fifth of seven children in a large, loving family. Her father Raymond Deison was a Presbyterian minister. Her mother Helen taught elementary school.

She received her degree from North Texas State College in Denton in 1957 after graduating from Conroe High School in 1953. She was a well-loved teacher and librarian.

She continued her life of service to others as a nurse’s aide and a ward clerk in Burnet.

She loved life at the lake, reading and spending time with family and friends.  Her children and grandchildren will forever carry her patient, nurturing spirit in their hearts.

Survivors include siblings Dianne O’Leary, Mickey Deison, Betty Greenshield, Patsy Peacock, David Deison and Pete Deison; children Kirk Damron and Janan Boyter and husband Rayce Boyter; and grandchildren Kaitlyn Damron, Madison Damron, Dylan Boyter and Clayton Boyter.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222.

A graveside service is 1 p.m. Nov. 1 at Austin Memorial Park in Austin.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made  in her honor to some of her favorite charities: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., and Chris Yoder Animal Shelter/Adoption Center in Buchanan Dam.
