Wanda Ruth Hammack
Wanda Ruth Hammack, 78, of Bertram died Oct. 9, 2011. She was born in Burnet County on Aug. 5, 1933, to Robert and Kathryn Halbert Brown.
She enjoyed being a homemaker and served the Church of Christ in Bertram as a custodian for 17 years.
Survivors include her husband of six years James L. Hammack of Bertram; sons James Hammack and wife Tracy of Georgetown and Jeff Hammack and wife Sherri of Colorado Springs, Colo.; daughters Judy Pofahl and husband William of Kingsland and Debbie Tumey and husband Carl of McDade; sister Joyce Romiti and husband Benard of Antioch, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and special uncle and aunt David and Judy Halbert.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband of 47 years Douglas Crawford in 1995; son Robert Crawford; daughters Dorothy Brooks and Shirley Guy; brother Bobby Brown; and grandson David Guy.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Oct. 11 at Edgar Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St. in Burnet, (512) 756-4444. A service is 2 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Bertram Church of Christ, located on the corner of West and Elm streets in Bertram. Gary Blakeney will officiate.
Interment will follow at Oatmeal Cemetery in Bertram.
