Doris Jean Turnbo

Doris Jean Turnbo, 70, of Killeen died Oct. 4, 2011. She was born in Kopperl on Jan. 26, 1941, to Jack and Evelyn (Winsett) Campbell.
She married Larry G. Turnbo on Feb. 14, 1958, in Killeen. She worked for the Killeen Independent School District as a teacher’s aide, assisting children with dyslexia.
She lived an amazing life of grace and compassion. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and said of her family and her Lord: “I’ve been loved well by my family but best of all by my Savior Jesus Christ.” Her family is grieving, but celebrating now she is now truly home, reunited with the love of her life and worshiping her Savior.
Survivors include daughters Debbie Turner and husband Billy Paul of Cedar Park and Tammy McAnally and husband Jeff of Marble Falls; grandchildren Zach, Seth and Grace McAnally; step-grandchildren Billy Turner, wife Tiffany and children Tyler and Mackenzy of Liberty Hill and Tami Barclay, husband Trever and son Kade of Killeen; brother Kenneth Campbell and wife Julaney of Burleson; sisters Jackie and husband Vernon, Joan Shelton and husband Jack and Angie West and husband Ray, all of Burleson, and Shyrel Linthicum and husband Ralph of Joshua; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 30, 2009.
Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Oct. 7 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen. A service is 10:30 a.m. Oct. 8 at First Baptist Church of Trimmier with the reverends Jeff McAnally and Weldon Hicks officiating.
Burial will follow in the Killeen City Cemetery.
