David William Whitt
David William Whitt, 68, of Tow died Sept. 28, 2011. He was born to David B. and Edith M. (Deven) Whitt on Oct. 15, 1942, in Liberty Hill.
He served in the National Guard.
He married Peggy Ann Brundidge on Dec. 29, 1968, in Corpus Christi.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Tow, Tow Cemetery Association and past assistant fire chief of the Tow Volunteer Fire Department.
He loved to angle for catfish at Lake Buchanan and enjoyed wade-fishing in the Texas Gulf.
In addition to his wife of 43 years, survivors include sons Randy Bates of Corpus Christi, and Tommy Bates and wife Carola of Liberty Hill; daughter Christal Reven and husband Larry Dan of Pflugerville; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; mother; and brother-in-law Danny Ray Brundidge and his wife Judy Ann of Tow.
A visitation is 4-6 p.m. Sept. 30 at Putnam Funeral Home & Crematory, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008.
A funeral service is 10 a.m. Oct. 1 at First Baptist Church of Tow with the Rev. Gerald Moore officiating.
Interment follows at Tow Cemetery.
