Anton “Tony” Frank Satsky, 93, died Aug. 13, 2011. He was born in Lavaca County on March 9, 1918, to Anton George and Julia Klara (Ressler) Satsky.

He was a veteran of World War II and served in the 2nd Division (Indian Head) in Europe as part of the force landing at Normandy. He was a Purple Heart recipient.

After the war, he returned to Texas and spent much of his life working as a construction superintendent in the Austin area. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He retired in 1980.

He and his wife moved to the Highland Lakes in 1982 to Cottonwood Shores. He was active in his community and a member of St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Marble Falls, where he also served as a deacon. He enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful flowers, especially irises. In his later years, he especially enjoyed Missy, his precious canine companion, and just watching and feeding the extensive variety of Hill Country wildlife.

Survivors include sister Jane Webb of Burnet; daughter Karen Seaver and husband Bob of Burnet; sons Anthony Satsky and wife Tracey of Cottonwood Shores and Mark Satsky and wife Denise of Austin; grandchildren Timothy Seaver and David Seaver; and great-grandchildren Zamatha, Zoe and David Jr.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; two brothers; his wife of 49 years, Imogene (Ward) Satsky in 1988; and granddaughter Jodi Michella Seaver in 1998.

A service was Aug. 16 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home chapel, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373 with interment at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Highland Lakes Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at P.O. Box 1275, Marble Falls, TX 78654.
