Susan Elaine (Miller) Hall, 55, of Marble Falls died Aug. 12, 2011, after battling pancreatic and liver cancer. She was born in Olney on Nov. 8, 1955, to Eugene and Bobbye (Wright) Miller.

She and her family moved to Odessa in 1957. She attended Reagan Elementary, Bonham Junior High and Permian High schools, where she graduated in 1974. She received her Bachelor of Science in education from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos in 1997.

She married Gary Ken Hall, her high school sweetheart, on Feb. 9, 1980, in the home of Elton and Armedie Hall in Odessa. They moved to Marble Falls in 1982.

The couple had two children, their daughter in 1983, and son in 1987.

She was fortunate to have many different talents and careers in her lifetime, including orthodontist’s assistant, bank teller, real estate agent, antique dealer, homemaker, loving wife and mother, and a Mary Kay representative. But the career that brought her much joy and satisfaction was that of an elementary school teacher.

She taught in the Leander Independent School District for 12 years. She had a positive influence on her students, parents and coworkers at Fabian, Bagdad and Steiner Ranch elementaries.

In addition to her husband of Marble Falls, survivors include daughter Jennifer and husband Krishna Perkins of San Antonio; son Travis Hall of Copperas Cove; parents Eugene and Bobbye Miller of Odessa; brother Brian Miller and wife Dana of Frisco; her dogs Freckles and Brandie; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A service was Aug. 15 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Marble Falls, where she was a member, led by the Rev. Matt Homeyer. Interment followed at Lakeland Hills Memorial Cemetery.

The family would like to acknowledge those who supported her during her illness. A thank you goes to Lighthouse Hospice and nurses who provided her with dignity, compassionate care and medical supervision during her final days. Her beautiful smile and spirit still shines brightly through eternal life with her lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
