Anne Mae Glimp

Anne Mae Glimp, 95, of Burnet died Aug. 12, 2011. She was born in Menard on May 9, 1916, to Sam and Emily McCall Bales.
She was a resident of Burnet for more than 75 years.
She was chosen Woman of the Year in Burnet County, served as secretary and treasurer of the Texas Delaine Sheep Association for 50 years and served on the board of Shepperd Memorial Hospital for 13 years.
She was a longtime and faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Burnet.
She was involved with Burnet County 4H, FFA and the Burnet County Fair and Rodeo Association. She was a member of the Pen Chat Club and was active in the Home Demonstration Clubs in the Lake Victor and Bethel areas.
She served eight years on the first Burnet County District Appraisal Board.
Survivors include son Hudson Glimp and wife Shirlie of Marble Falls; daughter Lela Goar and husband Lane Goar of Burnet; sister-in-law Patty Sullivan of San Marcos; nephew Clay Sullivan of San Marcos; grandsons David Glimp and wife Lisa, Guy Goar and wife Katie and Clay Goar and wife Amanda; granddaughters Ammie and husband Paul Busby and Carolyn and husband Cliff Pawelek; and great-grandchildren Genevieve Glimp, Dominic Glimp, Jacob and Jordan Busby, Cole Goar, Molly Goar, Lane Goar, Peyton Goar and Gabriella Pawelek.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, G. Arlyn Glimp; parents; stepfather Claiborne Sullivan; and brothers Hudson Bales and J.C. Sullivan.
Visitation was Aug. 14 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222.
A service was Aug. 15 at First United Methodist Church in Burnet. A private family interment was at the Bethel Cemetery.
In lieu of usual remembrances, memorials and donations may be made to First United Methodist Church in Burnet, Bethel Community Center or the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
