Ivan Getschmann
Ivan Getschmann, 81, of Kingsland died July 19, 2011. He was born in Schulenburg on Nov. 29, 1929, to Otto and Isabella Umlang Getschmann.
He served in the Navy and married Agatha Waligura on April 20, 1954. He was a certified public accountant for many years and retired to Kingsland. He attended St. Charles Catholic Church in Kingsland, was a member of AARP, enjoyed cross-stitching and fishing.
Survivors include his wife Agatha Getschmann of Kingsland; children Gary Ivan Getschmann of Houston, Russell Getschmann of Victoria and Pamela Getschmann of Kingsland; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Kelvin Getschmann of Kingsland; and nieces and nephews.
A service was July 23 at St. Charles Catholic.
