May Ruth Hines

May Ruth Hines, 83, of Kingsland died July 20, 2011. She was born in Ionia, Mich., on May 15, 1928, to Albert and Laura Austin Cole.
She worked as a seamstress for several years and was a member of First Baptist Church in Kingsland and the AARP. She enjoyed quilting, making afghans and swimming. She also was a sponsor of a child in Indonesia for many years. In her spare time, she read. Survivors include her daughters Lynette Allwelt and Rusty Williams, both of Kingsland; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Thurland Cole and sister Alice Ortez, both of Michigan; and sister Mary Hagudus of Kingsland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; daughter Sheila Cooper; and grandson Joshua Robert Mansfield.
A service is 1 p.m. Aug. 18 at First Baptist Church, 3435 RR 1431 West in Kingsland, (325) 388-4507. A private inurnment will be held.
