Lady Stangs still looking for first district win
MARBLE FALLS — Dripping Springs took advantage of some timely errors against the Lady Mustangs for a 25-14, 25-12, 24-26 and 15-25 victory Sept. 14.
The varsity scores are a true indicator of how hard the Lady Mustangs fought for the win against Dripping Springs, head coach Julie Downs said.
“Dripping Springs is a tough team, but I feel that with a stronger match, less errors, we can be successful against the Tigers,” she said.

QUOTABLE: “Unfortunately, errors were the cause of the difference in the scores. However, they fought to the end for the game, saving several balls in the game to win the long rallies,” Marble Falls head coach Julie Downs said.

SUBVARSITY RESULTS: Marble Falls junior varsity lost 16-25, 27-29. Marble Falls freshmen lost 8-25, 9-25.

Lady Dawgs fall to Canyon Lake
FISCHER — Burnet continues to prepare for the start of District 8-3A as they suffered through a loss to Canyon Lake 13-25, 23-25, 21-25 on Sept. 14.

BURNET — Wimberley showed why it’s one of the top teams in Class 3A Region IV, beating the Lady Dawgs 25-16, 25-8, 25-20 on Sept. 11.

Lady Jackets earn road win at Ingram
INGRAM — Llano’s long road trip ended with a victory thanks to defeating Ingram Tom Moore 25-24, 25-19, 25-12 on Sept. 14.
Head coach Shawn Sweeten-Meredith said the Lady Jackets’ momentum in the first two sets propelled them to a convincing victory in the final game.

Llano outlasts Canyon Lake
LLANO — In a match that could have gone in either direction, Llano head coach Shawn Sweeten-Meredith was thrilled with the victory. That’s because the Lady Jackets won the first set 26-24 and had to fight hard in the fourth set to force decisive game.
The result was a 26-24, 20-25, 23-25, 25-19, 15-10 Lady Jackets victory Sept. 11.
“Fantastic win by Llano,” Sweeten-Meredith said. “We calmly controlled the fourth and fifth games to our favor. Sweet victory.”
