C.W. Masters, 92, of Sunrise Beach Village, Texas, passed away Jan. 10, 2018. He was born to Minnie Mae (Batteas) and Elgie Masters on Feb. 25, 1925, in Wheeler, Texas.
After proudly serving the United States of America in the Navy during World War II, C.W. spent most of his career as a carpenter, doing all kinds of construction.
After he retired, he continued to do woodworking in his shop and always had many projects going at the same time. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, and most things he could do with his hands. He was a member of the Kingsland Masonic Lodge and a Mason for 52 years and a member of First Baptist Church of Kingsland.
C.W. is survived by his wife of more than 71 years, Esther Celeste (Savage); sons, Larry Masters and Clifford Masters and wife Y’Vette; daughters, Joyce Norman and husband Bill and Lynne Masters; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
C.W. was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service was Jan. 28 at First Baptist Church of Kingsland. The Highland Lakes Honor Guard performed military honors and the Kingsland Masonic Lodge #1424 in Kingsland rendered Masonic honors. The Rev. Bubba Stahl officiated.
