Lady Stangs threaten in the final inning but come up short

DRIPPING SPRINGS — The Marble Falls High School softball team had Dripping Springs — the No. 11-ranked team in the state — on its heels Friday.

But that still didn’t lead to victory.

Trailing, 3-0, headed into the top of the seventh inning, Marble Falls senior Mackinzee Mayfield hit a standup double to the center-right field gap. Senior Mattie Counts hit a flyball to right field that was dropped for the RBI, 3-1.
