Howard Ray Hinkle, 87, of Lampasas, Texas, and formerly of Ellenton, Florida, and Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away June 16, 2017, in Temple, Texas. He was born March 12, 1930, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Marie Beatrice and John Kelly Hinkle.
Howard married Wilma Imojene Cockrum on Oct. 2, 1951, in Clay County, Arkansas. He served in the U.S. Army and saw action in Korea from 1950-51.
He and Jean moved to Cincinnati after they were married, and Howard worked at Cincinnati Milacron until his retirement in 1988. In 1996, the couple moved to Ellenton, Florida, where they enjoyed playing golf and working at the Presbyterian Church Thrift Shop.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Hetzer and husband Bill of Lampasas; grandchildren, Marissa Hetzer of Leander and Kelly Morgan and husband Matt of Liberty Hill; great-grandchildren, Avery Morgan and Parker Morgan; and sister Doris Sanders of Charleston, Missouri
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Wilma Imogene; parents, John Kelly and Marie Beatrice Hinkle; and siblings Floyd Jefferson Hinkle, William Edgar Hinkle, Mary Ellen “Pauletta” Hinkle, Marvin Herman Hinkle, Evelyn Louise Luhning, and Normand Hinkle.
