Roxie C. Walker, 97, of Buchanan Dam died March 3, 2017

Roxie C. Walker
Roxie C. Walker beloved mother, wife, and friend went to her blessed reward on March 3, 2017, at 7 p.m. in her own home. Roxie was born to Grover C. and Bertha Curry Carey on Feb. 9, 1920 — one of 12 blessings born into this family.
She married Robert L. Taylor in April 1939. She was a devoted wife who worked by her husband’s side and shared each and every burden and joy until Robert passed from this earth in 1981. They had one son: Cary R Taylor.
Roxie later married Eugene A. Walker of Cherokee, a longtime friend. The couple had many years of happiness and travel until Eugene’s death.
Roxie was a homemaker and a beloved mother and friend to many people. She touched the lives of so many that they are too numerous to count. She was a blessing to us all. She shall be sorely missed by those of us who remain behind.
At her request, she will be cremated and a memorial Service will be conducted at Valley Springs Primitive Baptist Church in Valley Spring. Her life is to be celebrated by brethren and dear friends. The service is 2 p.m. March 26. All who wish to celebrate the life of this special person are welcome for fellowship.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Valley Springs Primitive Baptist Church or a library of your choice have been requested.
Her ashes will be transported to Delbarton, West Virginia, for final rest with her father, mother, sisters, and brothers.
Her son, Cary, will remain in the family home in Buchanan Dam, and all who loved her are always welcome.
