Robert Joe Warren, 83, of Kingsland died July 31, 2016

Robert Joe Warren passed away July 31, 2016, in Kingsland, Texas, at the age of 83. He was born Dec. 26, 1932, in Lorena, Texas, to Gladys (McIlhaney) and Harley Abijah Warren.

He married Eddie Jean Hinson on June 24, 1951, in Penelope, Texas.

Robert owned Cedar Lodge in Buchanan Dam. He was part of the Buchanan Volunteer Fire Department and the Llano EMS from 1984-1995. He also volunteered at state parks, worked for Gray Tool Co. in Houston for 25 years and was a member of Buchanan West Baptist Church in Buchanan Dam.

He is survived by wife, Eddie Jean Warren; son, Joe Lee Warren and wife Heather of Kingsland; daughters, Wanda Holland of Bloomington, Indiana, Brenda Newberg of Kingsland, Marsha Hartwig and husband David of Kingsland, Pamela Seiler and husband Tom of Pearland and Robin Nesom and husband Chip of Buchanan Dam; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Weldon Warren and Harley Eugene Warren; and sisters, Doris Harrison and Helen Tucker.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Aug. 2 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 900 Industrial Blvd. in Kingsland, (325) 388-6767. A funeral service is 2 p.m. Aug. 3 at Buchanan West Baptist Church in Buchanan Dam with Brother Tom McCollister officiating. A graveside service will follow at Bluffton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Buchanan West Baptist Church, 850 Lillian Dean, Buchanan Dam, TX 78609; or Granite Mountain Baptist Church, 500 FM 1980, Marble Falls, TX 78654.

His grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
