Harry Lee Janek, 99, of Sunrise Beach Village, Texas, passed away June 10, 2016. He was born to Andrew and Rosie (Barton) Janek in Penelope, Texas, on Jan. 18, 1917.
Harry worked for Consolidated Aircraft in California and then Consair Airways at Hickam Field in Hawaii. He was a service manager in three different Ford dealerships in San Antonio, where he rose through the ranks to become a district manager for San Antonio Sales Co., and also the AER Manufacturing Co., which remanufactures gasoline engines in San Antonio.
Harry was a member of the Llano County Republican Club and was a precinct chairman for 12 years.
He is survived by his wife Mary and numerous nieces and nephews.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ray Janek; and sisters, Eleanora Manney, Helen Honak and Sally Janek.
Visitation is 4-6 p.m. June 13 at Putnam Funeral Home and Crematory, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008. A funeral service is 2 p.m. June 14 at the funeral home with interment following at Sandy Mountain Cemetery in Sunrise Beach Village. The Rev. John Alsup will officiate.
Honorary pallbearers are Wallace Klussman, Tommie Martin and Ron Cooper.
