Robert James Brown, 80, of Kingsland died May 15, 2016

Robert James Brown, 80, passed away May 15, 2016, in Kingsland, Texas.

He is survived by his wife Janis Fraizer Brown; daughters, Lisa Martin and husband Pete and Kat Rodriguez and husband Adrian; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Robert worked as an insurance executive for Foremost Insurance Co. for 40 years, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed many hobbies, including hiking, Airstream travel, photography and golf. He also loved reading and was the “honorary male” member of the reading group Novel Ideas Literary Society for almost 20 years.

He was a true Renaissance man.

Robert will be missed by many, loved for his sense of humor, profound wisdom and overriding compassion. One close friend described Robert best when he said, “A person will meet many good men in a lifetime but few who are truly great. Bob was a great man.”
