Betty Jane Scherer Fest, 93, of Sunrise Beach Village died May 2, 2016

Betty Jane Scherer Fest of Sunrise Beach Village passed away May 2, 2016, at the age of 93. She was born to Revillo Macy Scherer and Florence Elizabeth Whall on June 24, 1922, in San Antonio.

Betty married Frederick Francis Fest on Nov. 9, 1940, in San Antonio. After retirement, Betty and Fred moved permanently to Sunrise Beach in 1984.

Fred preceded Betty in death on May 5, 2006.

She is survived by daughter, Sharon Sinkey and spouse Gregory of Holiday, Florida; and nephews, James W. Nicholson Jr. and wife Cathy of San Antonio and Billy Nicholson and wife Jane of Helotes.

A service is 2 p.m. May 6 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Sandy Mountain Cemetery in Sunrise Beach.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an animal shelter of your choice or to Meals on Wheels.
