John E. “Jack” Walters, 86, of Kingsland, Texas, passed away April 18, 2016. He was born to John Teofil and Florence (Trill) Walters on July 28, 1929, in Dunkirk, New York.

Mr. Walters proudly served his country for over 30 years in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves and commanded the Reserve Center in Buffalo, New York. Jack retired as a lieutenant colonel. He then had an illustrious career at the Trico Corp.

Jack was a past master of Living Stone #255 Masonic Lodge in Colden, New York, and a member of Blazing Star Lodge #413 in Marble Falls. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Marble Falls and a member of the Reserve Officers Association for over 25 years. Jack included bowling as one of his hobbies.

Jack is survived by his wife of over 56 years, Edith “Edee” Walters of Kingsland; children, Ellen Elizabeth Walters and husband David Foster of Manhattan Beach, California, Lisa Anne Walters of Austin, Gregory Allen Walters and wife Meg of Bloomfield, Iowa; and two grandchildren.

Mr. Walters was preceded in death by his parents.

A private family service will be held with the Rev. John Brantley officiating.
