MARBLE FALLS — The Marble Falls High School freshman football teams went 1-1 in games played Sept. 9.

The gold team beat Burnet 14-7, while the purple team lost to the Bulldogs 34-7.

The Mustangs scored two first-half touchdowns, both by freshman Korbin McLean. McLean had touchdown runs of 30 and 2 yards. Freshman Tyler Taber sealed off the game with his second interception of the game with 1 minute left in the game. The win put the gold team at 1-1 on the season.

The purple team suffered a hard-fought loss to the Bulldogs. The only touchdown came from a 38-yard run from freshman Hunter Marino in the fourth quarter.

The freshman teams will host Boerne Champion at 5 and 7 p.m. Sept. 15 at Mustang Stadium, 2101 Mustang Drive.
