Beverly Kay Holt, 65, of Buchanan Dam died Feb. 8, 2016
Beverly Kay Holt, 65, passed away peacefully on Feb. 8, 2016. She was born April 19, 1950, in Lubbock, Texas, the first child of Wesley and Thelma Holt. She grew up with her brother, Phil, in Lovington, New Mexico.
Bev was a certified nurse’s aide and worked for more than 10 years at Women’s Hospital in Las Vegas. She loved children and also worked in child care. Bev taught children’s Sunday school classes for many years at Buchanan West Baptist Church.
Bev and her parents moved to their family-owned RV park, Shady Oaks, in 1991, and she resided there until her health declined in the summer of 2015.
Bev loved people, and she never met a stranger. She drove all over the park in her golf cart and loved to visit and get to know the guests. She loved playing games of all kinds, and even during her last months in the nursing home, she could always round up a group for a game of Skip-Bo.
We will miss her laugh most of all! She was a gracious, sweet-spirited women who loved her family and friends.
Beverly was preceded in death by her father, Wesley Holt. She is survived by her mother, Thelma Holt of Buchanan Dam; brother, Phil Holt and wife Cindy of Buchanan Dam; niece, Cami Holt Krystyniak (John) of Cibolo; and nephew, Josh Holt (Kendyl) of Georgetown. Her great-nephew and great-niece, Caden and Caleigh Krystyniak of Cibolo held a very special place in her heart. She is also survived by several cousins, aunts and an uncle.
She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, neighbor and friend. Always cheerful and optimistic, Beverly was a loyal servant to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and a shining example of her faith.
A celebration of Bev’s life is 2 p.m. Feb. 12 at Hill Country Fellowship in Burnet with visitation prior to the service at 1 p.m. Interment will follow the celebration service at Lake Hills Memorial Park on Park Road 4 in Burnet.
