Hollis Wayne McClinton, 64, of Buchanan Dam went home to Heaven on Jan. 1, 2016. He had battled cancer for a short time and went peacefully.

Wayne was born Jan. 10, 1951, in Hubbard, Texas, to Gerald Lee and Sybil Polk McClinton.

Wayne was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam era. He lived in Buchanan Dam and the local area for about the past 15 years. He also lived and worked in Port Aransas for several years.

He was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt arrowheads.  He was a carpenter by trade and worked with his son Jay in his custom wood-flooring business.

Survivors include sons, Jay McClinton and wife Troye of Buchanan Dam and Matt McClinton and wife Loretta of Burnet. Wayne is also survived by his adopted children, Charles Travis and wife Neeley and Tammy Copsetta and husband Jeff, all of Burnet; brother Jimmy Dale McClinton of Buchanan Dam; sister Katherine Hernandez of Waco; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Karline and Karen; brother Jerry McClinton; and grandson Daniel McClinton.
