Brian Keith Thompson, 59, of Burnet passed away at home Dec. 16, 2015. He was born June 22, 1956, in Burnet to Myrna Kincheloe and Ray Thompson.

In 1974, Brian graduated from Burnet High School, where he played football for the Burnet Bulldogs. He was reputedly the best punter who ever graduated from Burnet High School and was an all-around great athlete. Brian graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the National Honor Society. He received a full academic scholarship to Southwest Texas State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1978.

Brian was an active member of Valley Lodge No. 175 A.F. & A.M. in Burnet and Lake Victor Lodge No. 1011 A.F. & A.M. in Lake Victor. He was well known in our community for his many talents and tremendous sense of humor and was voted by the community as the funniest person in Burnet.    

Brian was a loving husband, father and grandfather and good friend to many. He is survived by his wife, Nancy; mother, Myrna Houy; daughters, Natalie and Taylor Thompson and Kristin Milliorn; sisters Cindy Kneen and husband Mark, Lisa Striegler and husband Blackie and Shannon Escamilla and husband Robert; grandchildren, Gavin, Madalyn and Kurt Jackson; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Thompson; sister Kim Newton; and son, Kurt D. Milliorn.

Pallbearers are nephews Tyler Newton, Hunter Newton, Tanner Newton, Drew Escamilla, Mathew Escamilla and Chase Holloway. Honorary pallbearers are nieces Raegan Brooke Bryant and Samantha Escamilla and nephew Lance Holloway.

A funeral service is 3 p.m. Dec. 18 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 306 Texas 29 East in Burnet, (512) 756-2222. A private family burial with a Masonic service will follow at the Frazier Ranch Family Cemetery.
