Barbara Jane Rhoades, 73, of Burnet died Dec. 8, 2015
After a lengthy battle with lung cancer, Barbara Jane Rhoades died on Dec. 8, 2015, in Burnet at the age of 73. Barbara was born on Aug. 30, 1942, in Lampasas to Cecil James and Lee Etta Rhoades.
Although born in Lampasas, her family lived in Burnet, where she spent the majority of her childhood.
Barbara was a very giving person. If she had two of anything and you needed one, it was yours; but if she had only one and thought you needed it more, she would gladly give it. Her loving, generous nature and kind heart will be missed.
She leaves behind her daughter, Deborah Devaney; son-in-law, Patrick Devaney; grandchildren, Bevin Devaney and Aidan Devaney; brothers, Dale Wayne Rhoades and wife Arlene and Samuel Lloyd Rhoades and wife Linda; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her son Billy Joe and daughter Kimberly, who both died in infancy.
Barbara requested a private service and is interred in Post Mountain Cemetery in Burnet. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
