Beatrice Irene Dasso-Schwab, 85, of Kingsland died Oct. 30, 2015

Beatrice Irene Dasso-Schwab, 85, died at the Scott & White Hospital in Marble Falls, Texas, shortly after 4 p.m. Oct. 30, 2015. She lived in Kingsland, Texas, and formerly in Iowa City, Iowa, and Rock Island, Illinois.
Bea was a Fourth of July baby, arriving in rural Clark County, Wisconsin, on Independence Day in 1930 as the 10th child of Henry J. and Francis (Schweickert) Dasso. She graduated eighth grade from St. Mary’s Parochial School and 12th grade from Rock Island High School at 16 in 1947. She attended Mary Crest College in Davenport, Iowa, for one year before earning her registered nursing degree from St. Anthony’s Nursing School in 1951.
She was tall and slender, being 5 foot 7 inches and 128 pounds in her prime. Her first nursing job was at the Veterans Hospital in Dwight, Illinois. All seven of her brothers served in the military during World War II and the Korean War.
Beatrice married Robert William Schwab on Sept. 12, 1953, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Rock Island. They started their married life on Pacific Street in Alameda, California, where Bob was stationed with the Army. After Bob’s discharge, they moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin, where both of them worked for the Fort Howard Paper Co.
Later, in 1956, the couple moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where their son, Paul, was born. Subsequently, they moved to Iowa City, where Bob joined his family in the Schwab Advertising System. In August 1989, Bea and Bob retired to a house of their own design on Lake LBJ in Kingsland.
Bea’s avocations were sewing and quilting, reading, walking and biking.
Bea is survived by her husband, Bob; son, Paul; grandchildren, Neil, Andrew and Elizabeth; sister, Lucille; and brothers Raymond and Jerome.

A Mass service is 10 a.m. Nov. 6 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Kingsland. Inurnment will be at Mather Family Cemetery in Williamson County.
