Legacy Community Fund offering grants to local nonprofits
MARBLE FALLS — Applications are being accepted for grants from the Legacy Community Endowment Fund. Money will be awarded in October.
The family of funds was established in 2005 to provide financial assistance to Highland Lakes nonprofit organizations and for educational enrichment projects and scholarships.
The Legacy Community Fund has granted more than $175,000 through its first seven grant cycles. Any 501(c)(3) organization providing services in the Highland Lakes may apply, although grants will not be awarded to religious organizations for religious purposes, political organizations, events or fundraisers, other funders or individuals. Organizations may seek funds for a particular project or for ongoing operations with a maximum requested amount of $2,500.
The deadline to submit an application with supporting documentation is July 17. Go to www.highlandlakeslegacyfund.org or contact Midge Dockery at (830) 220-1100 or mdockery@hllegacyfund.org for applications or more information.
