French masquerade fundraiser benefits Candlelight Ranch
FROM STAFF REPORTS
MARBLE FALLS — Nestled between Marble Falls and Lago Vista, Candlelight Ranch’s reach extends across Texas, touching the lives of hundreds of children and their families thanks to its innovative approaches to working with at-risk and special-needs youth.
The ranch uses specially planned, nature-based activities to help kids learn, play and heal.
But running an operation that includes zip lines, equine-assisted learning and art and music workshops takes a lot of support — financially and otherwise. So Candlelight Ranch supporters are throwing a party, a French masquerade to be more exact, from 7-10 p.m. Oct. 22.
This year’s Dress by Candlelight is at Brazos Hall, 204 E. Fourth St. in Austin. Sure, it’s a bit of a drive, but the event and the cause help lots of children across Texas and many from right here in the Highland Lakes. Several local organizations and school districts take advantage of Candlelight Ranch’s programs and facilities.
Dress by Candlelight is the Candlelight Ranch Foundation’s primary source of funding.
The attire is Austin cocktail (go to dressbycandlelight.com for examples of what this means), but you’ll enjoy a night of fun and philanthropy. Sophie Parrott’s Marvelous Vintage Tea Party Co. is hosting the event. The night includes cocktails, food and a live auction. There will also be a Julian Gold Fashion Show.
Tickets for the event are $100 for general admission ($150 at the door) and $175 for VIP, which includes reserved seating, a private reception and the after-party.
