Yvonne Frances Deal, 86, passed away peacefully in her sleep Oct. 9, 2014, from complications of congestive heart failure.

A funeral service was Oct. 12 at Edgar & Jenkins Family Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St. in Burnet, (512) 756-4444. A burial followed at Marble Falls Cemetery.

Yvonne was born Sept. 2, 1928, to Frank and Evelyn Rivers in Vernon, Texas. She grew up in Dallas as the only girl of nine children. She was spirited and involved in many high school activities.

On April 11, 1947, she married her husband of 65 years, Harry William Deal of Dallas, and in 1954, with three small children, they moved to Houston.

Yvonne and Harry had a love for the Texas Hill Country and spent weekend and summer vacations on Lake LBJ, where they built their first retirement home. Upon Harry’s retirement from Texas Instruments, they moved to the lake, where they lived for more than 35 years. They later moved to their Marble Falls home.

Yvonne was an excellent gourmet cook for her family and loved bowling, reading books and coordinating kitchen-ware and family parties along with caring for their beloved dogs. She was a very talented seamstress and made her two daughter’s clothing and doll clothes.

She and Harry’s strong work ethic helped all three children to graduate from college and become successful in life. She and Harry traveled in retirement, during which they collected cup-and-saucer sets, spoons, brassware and antiques.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her devoted and hardworking husband of 65 years, Harry William Deal, along with seven brothers.

She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Jean Deal and husband Benjamin Gebhardt and Suzanne Deal Booth and husband David G. Booth; son, Stephen Deal and wife Alma Sanchez; granddaughters, Sarah Rivers Deal and husband Greg Horn and Erin Deal Booth; grandsons, Charles William Deal and David Chandler Booth; brother, Bobby Ray Rivers and wife Mary Rivers; nieces Donna Tillery Toler and husband Paul Toler, Kathy Tillery Bouchard and husband Tracy Bouchard, Kimberly Benouard and Shelley Wells; nephew Michael Cozby; many more loving nieces and nephews and family members; and her beloved poodle, Leo.

Yvonne was a loving wife and a devoted mother who was well-loved by her family and friends. We will all miss her presence in our lives and are comforted by the faith in God that we will all be reunited in Heaven.
