A funeral service for Selma Oleta Cox, 94, of Belton is 2 p.m. Sept. 27 at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton with the Rev. Andy Davis and Dr. Leroy Kemp officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Nolanville.

The family will receive friends for visitation 6-8 p.m. Sept. 26 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cox died Sept. 23, 2014, at her home in Belton. She was born Nov. 17, 1919, in Goldthwaite, the daughter of Walter C. and Lucy Pearl Hardeman Henry.

She married Doyle Cox on Sept. 29, 1944, in Denton. She worked for Belton High School for many years as an English teacher and as the librarian, retiring in 1980. She was a member of First Baptist Belton since 1960, serving as church librarian as well.

Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Cox, and stepson, Doyle Dean Cox.

Survivors include sons Charles Cox of Marble Falls and Gary Cox of Austin; brother, John Lester Henry of San Angelo; sisters, Thelma May and Rita Mason, both of Austin; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Belton library.
