Elnora Janet Boston Arnold came into this world in Austin, Texas, on Jan. 7, 1923, and went home to heaven Sept. 11, 2014.

Elnora was welcomed home to heaven by her parents, Hugh Bun Boston and Prudie Lee Whitley Boston; beloved husband, Eugene T. Arnold; sons Duane D. Arnold and Eugene T. Arnold Jr; and a host of other friends and relations.

She left behind her son James Arnold of Alice, Texas; daughter, Mary Arnold of Burnet; sisters, Shirley Jackson of Oklahoma City and Ethel Lee Reynolds of Victoria, Texas; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other beloved friends and relations.

Elnora was a lifetime member of both the Texas and national PTA organizations and was very active in civic matters during her time living in Corpus Christi. She was also an active member of First Christian Church of Burnet as long as her health allowed.

In her time here, Elnora was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, but she was much more. She was a beautiful woman and a gracious lady, who loved her family and friends dearly and loved the Lord above all. She was a servant leader in her home and community while she was able, and as her body and brain succumbed to failing health, she ran her race through to the end with dignity, grace and patience.

Her loved ones left behind here can rest assured that her Lord welcomed her home with a much deserved “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

A memorial service is 10:30 a.m. Sept. 19 at Edgar & Jenkins Family Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St. in Burnet, (512) 756-4444, with interment to follow at Mason Family Cemetery in Arp.
