OBITUARY: Clara Louise Thornblom, 87, of Granite Shoals dies Aug. 7, 2014
Clara Louise Thornblom, 87, of Granite Shoals, Texas, died Aug. 7, 2014, at 12:30 a.m. at the Gardens of Richardson Nursing Home in Dallas.
A funeral service is 10 a.m. Aug. 12 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373, with the Rev. Charles Waugh officiating. Burial will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. Visitation is before the funeral service Aug. 12.
Clara Louise was born Sept. 14, 1926, in El Campo to Gus Adolf and Agnes Canik Venglar and was the youngest of eight children. She attended school at Lawson School in Burr.
Clara was united in marriage to David Keylo Thornblom of San Saba in El Campo on Feb. 13, 1945. She was an active gardener at her Granite Shoals home for many years and a life member of the National Home Gardening Club.
She is survived by her sister Becky (Venglar) Frisbie and husband Ed; children, Patricia June (Thornblom) Hearn, Joe Garland Thornblom and wife Maria, David Keylo Thornblom Jr. and wife Barbara and Kathy (Thornblom) Strawn-Frank and husband Robert Frank; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
