OBITUARY: Douglas Howard Mancil, 63, of Meadowlakes dies May 27, 2014

Douglas Howard Mancil of Meadowlakes, Texas, went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2014, after a lengthy illness. Douglas was born May 31,1950, in San Antonio.
After graduating from Round Rock High School, he moved to Beaumont, Texas, where he spent 10 years in the U.S. Navy and more than 25 years working in the off-shore oil fields of the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast.
Douglas was preceded in death by parents, J.R. and Jacqueline Baker Mancil, and brothers Jody and Jesse Mancil.
Those left to honor his memory are his brothers Fred Mancil and wife Perri of Meadowlakes and Ken Mancil of Conroe; sisters, Mary Ann Chastain and husband J.D. of Waco and Billie Jean Mancil of Georgetown; and nieces and nephews, James Mancil and wife ReAnna of Kingsland, Meg Moorhead and husband Mitchell of Horseshoe Bay and Kelsey Kelley and husband Patrick of College Station.
A memorial service is 10 a.m. May 31 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont.
Douglas was an avid reader, and the family request that any contributions be made in his honor at a local library of your choice.
