Dalmon Wesley Spinks, 84, of Kingsland, Texas, passed away May 28, 2014. He was born to Dalmon Littleton and Marguerite (McCafferty) Spinks on Feb. 28, 1930, in Austin, Texas. He was raised between Austin and Llano County.

He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean conflict.

Dal married Dorothy Jon Flores on May 23, 1970, in Torrey Pines, Calif. He helped found the Hill Country Area Crime Stoppers and was a past treasurer, an avid RV’er full time for 20 years — he had been to all of the western states, west of the Mississippi.

He enjoyed woodworking with a scroll saw, gardening and saltwater and lake fishing.

Dal is survived by his wife of 44 years, Dorothy “Dee” Jon Spinks of Kingsland; daughter, Catherine Ann Skinner of Olympia, Wash.; son and daughter-in-law, David G. and Nancy Spinks; stepdaughter, Ursula J. Tuffli of Corvallis, Ore.; grandchildren, Danika E. Brazil, Kailey Black, Eric A. Black, Tiffany Spinks, Matthew Spinks and Brenna L. McCulloch; and great-granddaughter, Breanna Black.

A memorial Mass is 10 a.m. June 5 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Melvin Dornak officiating. Inurnment will take place at Llano City Cemetery.
