OBITUARY: Diane Menefee Oatman, 61, of Llano dies May 1, 2014

Diane Menefee Oatman, 61, of Llano, Texas, passed away May 1, 2014. She was born in Ranger, Texas, on Feb. 27, 1953, to Gene and Betty Menefee.
She graduated from Monterey High School in Lubbock in 1971 and received a Bachelor of Arts in home and family living from Texas Tech University in 1975.
She married Sam Oatman on March 23, 1979, in Llano County.
She was active in the Llano community, serving as president of the Llano Culture Club for several years, as an active member of her church and, for the last several years, running Oatman Land Titles, which was voted the best land title company in Llano County.
Her biggest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren and attending many of their activities.
Diane is survived by her husband, Sam Oatman; daughter, Jeannette Whitus and husband Brent; son, Theron Oatman and Ashley Oatman; granddaughters, Mikayla and Rylea Whitus; and grandson, Brennen Oatman. She is also survived by her mother, Betty Menefee; brother, Mark Menefee and wife Patti and their children Ryan Menefee and Kelley Menefee.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gene Menefee.
A viewing is 5-7 p.m. May 2 at Waldrop-Hawthorne-Hatfield Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300. A funeral service is 10 a.m. May 3 at First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Llano Food Pantry or Grace Gathering Church in Llano.
