James Randolph “J.R.” Box II, 35, passed away Feb. 2, 2014. He was born to Randolph and Joyce Box on Dec. 18, 1978, in Austin, Texas.

J.R. was a lifelong Burnet resident, graduating from Burnet High School in 1997. He married Brooke, the love of his life, on April 19, 2003. His pride and joy, Ashlyn Renee, was born April 12, 2006.

J.R. worked as a CO tech for Verizon. He was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish, especially for deer. He was at his happiest spending time outdoors with his family and friends.

J.R. was preceded in death by his parents, Randolph and Joyce Box, and brother, Radell Box.

He is survived by his wife, Brooke; daughter, Ashlyn; sisters, Cheryl Glaspy and husband Mike and Terri Richards and husband Bill. He also is survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Judy Carlile; sister-in-law, Lori Jowers and husband Brian; brother-in-law, Jase Carlile; and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, family and friends.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Feb. 5 at Edgar Funeral Home, 109 N. Main St. in Burnet, (512) 756-4444. A graveside service is 10 a.m. Feb. 6 at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park with Mr. Werth Mayes officiating. Those wishing to express their condolences may do so at edgarfh.com.
