Vernetta Kay Clampitt, 75, of Marble Falls passed away Jan. 16, 2014. She was born to Clifton and Rena (Lewis) Plunk on June 6, 1938, in Baker, Okla.

Vernetta was an accomplished educator and taught school for more than 30 years, having graduated from Oklahoma Panhandle State University and the University of Oklahoma with a master’s degree.

She was a member of Kingsland Community Church and enjoyed traveling with her husband across the country to various jobs they had. After she retired, she enjoyed her grandchildren very much.

Mrs. Clampitt is survived by her husband of 54 years, David of Marble Falls; daughter, Jacque Woolman and husband Tee of Llano; son, Bob and wife Linda of Edmond, Okla.; grandchildren, Cami, Michael and Walker; great-granddaughter, Emerson; brothers Delmer Plunk of Baker, Okla., Terry and wife Mary Jane Plunk of Bartlesville, Okla., and Rondal Plunk of Wichita, Kan.; and sisters, Norma Rook and husband Earl of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Doneva Parr and husband Randy of Humble.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Glen Plunk.

A celebration of life service is 11 a.m. Feb. 15 at Putnam Funeral Home, 145 Texas Ave. in Kingsland, (325) 388-0008.
