OBITUARY: Ona Davis Rhodes, 85, of Llano County dies Aug. 16, 2013
Ona Davis Rhodes passed away peacefully Aug. 16, 2103, at the age of 85.
She was born to Walter and Macy (Smith) Janner on the Ratliff Ranch, located in the Prairie Mountain area in southwest Llano County, on Nov. 10, 1927.
Ona was a lifelong resident of Llano County and graduated from Llano High School in 1944. She married M.C. “Bozo” Davis on Feb. 1, 1946. They lived on the Davis Ranch, where Ona enjoyed being a homemaker and helping Bozo with ranch activities.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Llano, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Monday Night Supper Club.
Ona was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bozo Davis; daughter Sherie Ann Davis; and sons, Michael and Daryl Davis.
She is survived by her daughter Melodee and husband Rodney Taylor of Llano; sister Mildred and husband David W. Strayhorn; two grandchildren, Terra and husband Judson Willett of Austin and Heath and wife Kay Taylor; and two great-grandchildren, Addison and Graham Taylor.
A funeral service is 11 a.m. Aug. 19 at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home, 307 E. Sandstone in Llano, (325) 247-4300, with the Rev. Rick Cundieff officiating. Burial will follow at Llano City Cemetery. Pallbearers are Heath Taylor, Judson Willett, Mike Livermore, Mike Livingston, Dennis Raesener and Jim Cone.
