Don Copple, 66, of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, passed away May 29, 2013. He was born Feb. 22, 1947, in Louisville, Ky.

He served in the Navy from 1965 to 1969 with two tours in Vietnam. Don was an electrical engineer in charge of high-voltage power distribution for the entire Ed Bluestein Motorola Site in Austin before retiring in 1998.

Don’s passion was building. His latest project was building a dream home for his soulmate on their property in the community of Sandy Harbor, where he served as the fire chief for the Sandy Harbor Volunteer Department and was on the board of directors for the Sandy Harbor P.O.A.

He dabbled in solar and wind technology in his spare time, always thinking about the future. He enjoyed being on his boat on Lake LBJ with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife and soulmate of 17 years, Emily Copple of Horseshoe Bay; son, Curtis Copple; mother,  Helen Copple-Lively; stepfather, Beaulis Lively; brother, Roger Copple; sister, Brenda Copple Boulais; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Judy Collins; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Vivian Wilson, David and Sharon Collins, Linda and David Hamby and Chip and Suzie Collins. Don had numerous nieces and nephews, all whom loved him and grew up with the notion that “Uncle Don nnows everything!” He is also survived by other relatives and close friends. He also leaves behind his precious dog, Bailey.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Eugene Copple, and nephew Shane Patrick Copple.

Visitation was  June 1 at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home, 1805 U.S. 281 North in Marble Falls, (830) 693-4373. A funeral service was June 2 at the funeral home. A military interment is 2:30 p.m. June 4 at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio.
