OBITUARY: Mary Frances Hammond, 88, of Sunrise Beach Village dies March 23, 2013

Mary Frances Hammond, 88, of Sunrise Beach Village, Texas, passed away March 23, 2013. She was born to Alexander and Myrtle Lee (Parsons) Wickham on Aug. 24, 1924, in Hondo, Texas.

On Dec. 4, 1942, Frances, as she was known to all her friends, married Jack Hammond, and they were married for more than 70 years.

Mrs. Hammond was known in Sunrise Beach Village for her pralines, and they were always the first items sold at the annual Sunrise Beach Volunteer Fire Department BBQ held on Memorial Day weekend. She also was very active in the CCAA organization in Sunrise Beach Village.

Frances enjoyed cooking, fishing and sewing. When the Hammonds lived in Lewisville, Texas, Frances was the manager of the Credit Bureau of Denton.

Mrs. Hammond is survived by her husband, Jack Hammond of Sunrise Beach Village; son George L. Hammond and wife Karen of Austin; grandsons, Jason Hammond and wife Staci and Chase Hammond, all of California; and sisters, Mazie Barker of Carrizo Springs, Texas, and Christine Morris of Dallas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Wickham and Alex Wickham; and son Charles Edwin Hammond.

A funeral service is 2 p.m. March 30 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Marble Falls with the Rev. David Sugeno officiating. Interment will follow at Sandy Mountain Cemetery in Sunrise Beach Village.
