Marble Falls will face the winner of the North Hays Blue-Oak Hill Warriors contest 11 a.m. Sunday.

The team is entering sectionals with confidence thanks to going 4-1 at the Sandlot Tournament In Buda June 10-12 to finish second overall.

“They did a great job,” manager Roman Zamarippa said. “They started out in the loser’s bracket and battled back. We’re real proud of them.”

Zamarippa said the will to succeed, even after losing and knowing one more would end their tournament run, says much about the athletes, he said.

“It just shows their character,” he said. “They’re great kids.”
