Albert Case Ogden
Albert Case Ogden, 95 of Horseshoe Bay, Texas, passed away Jan. 9, 2013. He was born July 18, 1917, in Passaic, N.J., to James Sherman and Helen Case Ogden. He resided in Horseshoe Bay since 1985.
Al served as a tech sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1945. He worked in the photo tech lab and served in eastern mandates and air offensives in Japan. He received the World War II Victory Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the American Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Al began working for the NCR Corp. shortly after his military service to our great country during World War II. His career with NCR began in Los Angeles. He became a branch manager in Abilene in 1957. In 1962, he became a sales instructor in Dayton, Ohio, at the NCR Corporate Headquarters. In 1963, Al moved to Santa Barbara, Calif., to become the branch manager. In 1966, he was promoted to NCR regional manager in Dallas and, in 1967, became the Houston branch manager. In 1969, Al was promoted to district vice president in Houston. In 1972, he moved to St. Louis, Mo., to become the branch manager there. In 1973, Al moved back to Dallas and was named southwest regional vice president. He directed all sales in eastern and southern Texas and Louisiana and supervised about 800 employees across the region.
Al had a long, wonderful life and was blessed to have two loves: his first wife, Mary, who passed away in 1967, and his second wife, Jane, who passed away in 2007. He dearly loved all his family and friends.
Al spent his final years at Gateway Gardens in Marble Falls, sharing many great days with “his gals” there as “Cowboy Al.” He loved all the staff and his friends who also lived at Gateway Gardens, and each person there helped Al to enjoy life to the fullest until he went home to be with the Lord.
Al is survived by children William “Bill” Anson Worley and wife Jeanne, James Morse Ogden and wife Nancy, Martha Ogden Bostrom and husband Richard and Carol Ogden Hager and husband Ralph J. Hager II. Grandchildren include Andrea Worley Straka and spouse James, William O. Worley and spouse Gerri, David Todd Worley and spouse Paige, James Scott Ogden, William Christopher Ogden, Mary Jane Ogden Winkenhofer and spouse Brian, Richard David Bostrom II, Ashley Bostrom Lindbert and spouse Michael, Brooke Hager Davis and spouse John, Sarah Hager Trenary and spouse Kyle, Ralph J. Hager III and spouse Amanda and Mary Ogden Hager. Al is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Johnson Morse and Olivia Jane Worley; and grandson Ron Marshall Worley.
A graveside service with military honors and interment was Jan. 13 at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.
