A popular low water crossing in Kingsland has been reopened for some time following damage sustained during the flash flooding that swept through the Highland Lakes in July

The concrete slab that spans the Llano River between RM 3404 and CR 307 – better known as The Slab Road, The Kingsland Slab, or the Llano Slab – is opened to through traffic as of late August.

The Texas Department of Transportation announced in late July that the road could be fixed by Aug. 31, but the project was completed ahead of schedule, reopening by at least Aug. 27.
